D70 - My first DSLR camera

After two years I finally made the jump to unknown, to digital SLR photography. Last year when first Canon introduced 300D I started to wonder wheter Nikon is able to respond and how. Well, It wasn't too long when press release came, D70 with 6.1 MPixels will be available in Spring 2004. At that point I knew what camera I want. But how does it look like ?

First impression

D70 has the same good quality first seen in F80. It is not build like a tank (like F5) but is certainly not flimsy in any way. Camera feels a bit heavier when compared F80. After I connected my lenses to it and take couple of test shots, one major  difference  is noticed as well,  AF of D70 speed is much better than in F80. Some people compare it to even speed of F100.

After using camera only for a moment you start discover that functions are real easy to use. You can delete picture using one button, change ISO speed by holding ISO button and turning command dial, same applies to quality and zooming shot. Buttons in general are well located. Only minor complain goes to location of DOF button that in my opinion is not so well  placed. Anyway usability is on top grade so congratulations to  Nikon for this.
